Why am I Suddenly Allergic to Eyelash Extensions?
There really is no logical explanation of why someone all of the sudden, develops any kind of allergy.
We can develop an allergy to any food or material, at any point our life, even if we’ve never been allergic before.
If you are not my client and are experiencing an allergic reaction…..some questions you can ask yourself:
- Did you get a new lash tech?
- Did you opt for a Cheap Set of Eyelash Extensions or go to an Uncertified Lash Tech?
- An old or expired lash adhesive may have been used that can cause reactions.
- If the extensions were applied to close to the eyelid and the adhesive was to close to the skin, this can cause reactions.
- If to much adhesive was used when applying the extensions.
- Were you recently sick or have a cold at the time of your appointment? Both weaken the immune system and up the chances of an allergic reaction.
- The Lashing Environment plays a huge role in Allergies.
- Proper Temperature and Humidity in the Lash Environment are critical!!
- It is important that your technician is familiar with how to control her environment so the adhesive is curing quickly and not staying uncured on your lashes.

What are You reacting to?
From my experience, you are not reacting to the synthetic lashes, you are reaction to the Adhesive.
In every case I have seen, the culprit is either Cyanoacrylate (the main component of lash glue) or Carbon Black.
Butyl Cyanoacrylate is the main bonding ingredient in 99.9% of adhesives on the market. It is also the #1 cause of allergies, eye irritation and redness.
Carbon Black: is the ingredient that give Lash Extension Adhesive a deep black color. This ingredient is only used in black adhesives. It is not in a Clear Lash Adhesive.
The unfortunate reality is that if you are allergic to cyanoacrylate, you just are. It is no different from being allergic to pollens, peanuts, or dust.
Once the body produces antibodies, you will be allergic forever.
My Adhesives DO NOT contain:
Butyl based Cyanoacrylate.
Formaldehyde
Latex
Odour
High fume ingredients.
Free of Carbon Black
